Buddug

image

Gwelais darn o emwaith Buddug am y tro cyntaf mewn Eisteddfod blwyddyn dwytha’, a roeddwn i wrth fy modd efo’r steil unigryw a’r prydferthwch syfrdanol. Felly, prynais darn bach fel anrheg i mam, mwclis calon gyda ‘Cariad’ arni.

Yn wreiddiol o Ogledd Cymru, mae Buddug bellach yn byw yn Llundain, wedi mynychu’r Brif Ysgol yno. Mae ei busnes bellach yn 10 mlwydd oed, ac mae’n mynd o nerth i nerth!

Defnyddiai techneg enamel i greu’r gemwaith, ac yn ol ei gwefan, mae Buddug yn toddi gwydr ar gopr, arian neu dur. Mae hi’n defnyddio haenau gwahanol, ac yn naddu’r dyluniad i fewn i’r haenau.

Beth am edrych ar wefan Buddug i gael golwg ar ei siop?

The first time I saw one of Buddug’s pieces was at an Eisteddfod last year, and I loved the unique rustic style and the stunning beauty they possessed. So, I just had to buy one for my mother, a heart necklace with ‘Cariad’, meaning Love in Welsh.

Originally from North Wales, Buddug now lives in London, having attended University there. Her business is now 10 years old!

Why not have a look at her online shop?

LFW – J JS Lee

Since finishing her studies at Central Saint Martins, receiving an MA in Womenswear, Jacke JS Lee has showcased many collections at London Fashion Week. I always look forward to seeing her newest designs, and today was no exception.

Eagerly awaiting by my laptop with the live stream on full screen, I think back on how her past collections have served as inspiration for me. I love how she can only use a select colour palette time after time, yet deliver something new.

As the room fell dark and silent, the first model entered. With a pixie bowl hairstyle and the classic red lip, the first outfit of LFW did not disapoint.

A persistent feature in this collection was a draw-string effect, which I loved! Gorgeous pale pink fur also graced the catwalk, with the odd shocking pink feature on the dark, black garments.

Pretty Timekeeper

image

This addition has been in my accessories collection for a couple of months now. I call it a timekeeper because ‘watch’ or ‘clock’ simply doesn’t suit it. I think ‘timekeeper’ goes with it’s vintage charm better, so ‘timekeeper’ it shall be.

I bought my gem from a stall at Clothes Show Live and I wore my timekeeper the minute I bought it. Until that moment I never realized how handy watches are! When I want to know the time, I look at my phone, which is usually deep in my bag under all the things I don’t need but are there just in case. But now, I can simply look down and there it is! I’m not keen on watches as I find them clumpy and awkward, but this is just perfect.

The best part about this trinket is that it goes with nearly every outfit! I wear a lot of dark colours, so it’s ideal. My only regret is that I didn’t buy more!

diversity project

image

This year, one of my modules required me to create a garment for a diverse model. Pictured is my sister and diverse model, Llinos.

It was pretty awkward designing a garment for Llinos. She has recently suffered from Scoliosis and has a very prominent curvature, so clothes lie quite skeewiff on her back. That’s why I decided to create a very loose-fitting top. The colours of the fabric had to be pretty vibrant, because Llinos has quite a vibrant personality! As for her hair, it was left as we found it due to a model tantrum in the dressing room.. but I think it worked great!

I took quite a while editing the photos, but finally settled on a 3D effect to bring out the bright colours of the viscose fabric. I had to leave the image above on a black and white filter as the seventies vibes coming from it were just too tempting and it went too well with the hair style, while also giving off a hint of innocence.

Ar gyfer un modiwl blyddyn yma, roedd rhaid i mi creu gwisg ar gyfer model ‘diverse’. Yn y lluniau, mae fy chwaer a model i, Llinos.

Roedd creu gwisg ar gyfer Llinos braidd yn anodd, gan ei bod hi wedi dioddef o Scoliosis yn ddiweddar felly mae ganddi gamedd mawr yn ei chefn sy’n gwneud i ddillad orwedd yn letchwith ar ei chefn. Dyma pan wnes i benderfynnu creu top eithaf llac. Roedd rhaid i liwiau’r defnydd fodyn lachar iawn, er mwyn efelychu ei phersonoliaeth! O ran gwallt, doedd dim modd gwneud dim oherwydd stranc yn yr ystafell wisgo.. Ond dwi’n meddwl ei fod yn gweithio’n eitha’ da!

Treuliais dyddia’ yn golygu’r lluniau, ond yn y diwedd wnes i aros gyda effaith 3D er mwyn rhoi pwyslais ar lliwiau’r defnydd.

things that make me smile #1 – sneaky photos

image

My little sister has a habit of stealing my phone and taking sneaky pictures. Although they clog up my phone memory, I love looking at what she’s captured and picking out the hidden gems, like this picture of my boyfriend and I.

Of course, some sneaky pictures are not appreciated as much, like nostrils and feet close ups!

Mae gan fy chwaer fach tuedd i ddwyn fy ffon a tynnu lluniau slei. Er eu bod yn llenwi’r cof, dwi’n hoffi edrych ar beth mae hi wedi ei dynnu a pigo allan y goreuon, fel y llun yma o fi a ‘nghariad.

Wrth gwrs, dydi pob llun ddim yn cael ei werthfawrogi gymaint, fel lluniau agos o ffroenau a traed!

Reincarnation

So, who else has been waiting in anticipation since the teaser trailer released last week? I have!

image

‘Reincarnation’, directed by Karl Lagerfeld and starring Cara Delevingne and Pharell Williams, was premiered last night (1st of December) on the eve of the Chanel catwalk presentation Métiers d’Art in Salzburg, Austria.

The song, written by Pharell Williams and performed as a duet by himself and Cara, has been stuck in my head since I first watched it, especially the ‘si si’ bits! And that dress! It’s exactly what 6 year old me imagined when dreaming of my future as a princess.

I can’t wait to see photos from the evening!

Cafodd ‘Reincarnation’, wedi ei gyfarwydd gan Karl Lagerfeld ac yn cynnwys Cara Delevingne a Pharell Williams, ei chwarae am y tro cyntaf neithiwr (1af o Rahgyr) ar noswyl cyflwniad catwalk Chanel, Métiers d’Art, sy’n cael ei gynnal yn Salzburg, Awstria.

Mae’r gan, wedi ei ysgrifennu gan Pharell Williams ac wedi ei berfformio gan Cara a Pharell, wedi bod yn sownd yn fy mhen ers i mi wylio’r video rhagflas wythnos dwythaf! A’r ffrog! Mae’r ffrog yn union beth oeddwn i’n ei ddychmygu pan oeddwn i’n breuddwydio am fy nyfodol fel tywysoges (pan oeddwn i’n hogan fach, wrth gwrs!).

Alla i ddim disgwyl i weld lluniau o’r noson!.

Too Many? I Say Not Enough

The outfit finisher: shoes!

I will always remember the first time I fell head over heels for a pair of.. heels. After trawling for hours around the Trafford Centre for the perfect heels for a Christmas Ball, I stumbled into Forever 21, feet aching and belly gasping to be fed. Then I saw them, the five inch beauties waiting to transform my stride from the tired shopper slouch into an elegant glide.

And that was it, I was hooked on shoes.

There’s something about shoes that only a few will understand. When you shop, shoes remain in your peripheral vision for a while. You know they’re there and reassure yourself that you don’t have room for any more. You contemplate renting a storage unit. You shrug that idea off. You are not going to buy shoes. But maybe…? No, you came in for a light scarf and nothing more.

Then, at the till point, you realise they’re in your hand, glaring with satisfaction.

The following night is filled with guilt and convincing yourself that shoes are an investment, Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood said so!

My advice for the friends and family of those who suffer from this severe shoe obsession is very, very simple… Just let us shop!
