As if the first day’s line up of London Fashion Week couldn’t get any better, Bora Aksu is due to showcase an AW14 collection. Previously opening LFW, Bora Aksu’s collection is sure to please.
Aksu, originally from Turkey, set up his label after graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2002.
His first London Fashion Week appearance was in 2003, stated ‘one of the top 5 shows’ by The Guardian and led him to achieve the New Generation Award, and award he received 4 times consecutively.
Since, he has collaborated with many brands, such as Topshop, Nike and Converse to name a few.
Bora Aksu now releases 4 collections a year since introducing ‘pre’ collections 2 years ago.
According to Vouge, the ’buzz around Bora Aksu is ever-growing; it’s easy to see why.’
The doll-like SS14 collection oozed the summery feeling that we all krave. With it’s bright colours, this collection impressed many. I loved it, apart from one tiny snag… the daffodil frilly dress. Every little girl’s dream of perfect pretty dresses was soured into a nightmare with frilly edges. However, the idea of prettiness was overpowering enough to leave us with the ideal bright feeling of summer.
Bora Aksu’s AW14 collection will be streamed live at 12pm, 14th February at London Fashion Week.
